The natural environment is part of human life. As living things, we cannot be separated from the environment. We always need it to meet our basic needs. What we do will certainly have an impact on the environment.  Considering the human need for environmental sustainability, it is necessary to have compassion for the environment. Through elementary science learning courses,  students carry out contextual-based learning. The implementation of this activity is a form of practice using the practicum guidelines that have previously been prepared. The implementation of learning is carried out at the Situ Gunung Tourism Object. The location was chosen because it is a natural area near the campus, and has abundant biodiversity.

The activity was carried out through observing the biodiversity in the Situ Gunung National Park. The observation process was carried out by land route from the tourist attraction of Situ Gunung

The observation process is facilitated by the presence of a signboard with the name of the plant species and the scientific name and use of the plant. Of course, observations are not only limited to plants that have a name sign installed, but all plants that are in the location. Students record and document based on what students find. After being recorded, the students looked for the scientific name of the plant. If they have problems, students search through google lens.

Besides observing the plants and animals that exist in the location, students also observe the process of environmental preservation in the area. Students observe how the attitude of visitors, especially regarding waste disposal. Through this activity, students are expected to be able to analyze various types of biodiversity that should be protected. Indirectly, this activity will foster an attitude of love for the environment in students.
